Lyrically, this was one of the few truly collaborative songs in the Anderdown catalog. Ronnie wrote the verses, I wrote the choruses, the band collab'd on the music. "Sink or Swim" was one of the funnest songs we played, and it never left our setlist for that reason.
lyrics
He travels heavy hearted
Whichever way the wind blows
No anchor holding him back
No direction of his own
Lacking a rhyme or reason
No rudder to steer his hope
He searches for the lighthouse
To try to find his way
Her voice
Calls me through the haze
Beckon me
To your faceless sky
I can't
Hear you through my thoughts
The current
Is too strong to fight tonight
So many times he's landed
On shores of shallow promise
Moored off to places barren
Seeking a soul that's honest
Tacking against the wind
And hearing a siren's call he
Sails further from the lighthouse
Further from his home
